Waterford, Connecticut – August 2, 1935
On August 2, 1935, two Connecticut National Guardsmen were flying over the southern portion of the Connecticut River area when their aircraft, a Douglas O-38E, (Ser. No. 34-3), went down in Smith Cove in Waterford. Neither man survived.
The men were identified as Lieutenant William Laughlin, and Sergeant Russell Clark.
